My 2nd DMA Recital
It has been a wonderful year of growth and joy at UNT. On April 22nd, I gave my second doctoral recital, presenting a program of arias by Handel and Mozart. I had a fantastic chamber ensemble for the Handel portion of my program, comprised of seven instrumentalist friends who play with generous spirit and easy camaraderie. We had a great time preparing a small selection of Handel's beautiful oratorio and opera arias. To top it off, Dr. Daniel Bubeck, countertenor, graciously joined me for the Cesare/Cleopatra duet, "Caro! Bella!"
The second half of the program featured two opera arias and three concert arias by Mozart. I'll admit that it was difficult to choose just which Mozart arias I would feature in this recital, but I certainly enjoyed the decisions I made. Indeed, programming my two favorite composers for an entire recital was a happy indulgence!
